Blue Hill Broadband Report
The locally developed and Updated (March 2021) Blue Hill Broadband Report was created to more accurately identify wired Internet access in Blue Hill and provide basic facts about the Internet and how they relate to the Town's wired infrastructure at the time. The document clarifies what we have, do not have, and why. It also captures some key shortfalls in the town's DSL capacity, and why they will not be corrected.
Changes have occurred in how some providers look at legacy systems. CCI is focused on Fiber - NOT DSL! Spectrum is looking at Fiber only in areas that do not have Coax services today (including HFC), keeping their traditional copper (Coax) medium. We were affected and through proactivity, recognized as an area to include in the ConnectMaine/CCI application to NTIA. The 25 February 2022 NTIA Award was the reward.
